Fordham Office Closing

Cash & Jewelry Loans
The Art Deco style Fordham office in 1930.

The trustees of the Provident Loan Society have announced the closing of the Society’s office at 2573 Decatur Ave in the Bronx, effective October 31, 2025. As of that date, staff from the Fordham office will transfer to the Provident office at 346 Park Avenue South, which will continue to service loans made from Fordham.

The Fordham office was designed for Provident by the architectural firm of Renwick, Aspinwall and Tucker, who also designed Provident’s Executive Offices on Park Avenue and numerous other Provident branches over 30 years. It opened in 1929, and has served
customers for almost 100 years. It is the third-longest serving of the more than 30 branches which Provident has operated in locations across the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan since 1894. Historically, Provident opened offices when customer demand increased in a particular location, and closed them when business changes diminished their utility.
